Now forming a major part of the London Design Festival, Design Junction exhibition took place last week at the old sorting office on Oxford Street.
The Hugs & Co. design team were there to check out the work and installations present from many leading british designers. The raw architecture of the old sorting office provided a fantastic location to set the show against. Each of the spaces created by different designers made amazing use of the venue and gave a richness to the show that made it really enjoyable.
Though Design Junction is only in its second year it attracted huge crowds on the opening night.
The Joy of Living competition prompted 50 designers to produce bespoke adaptations of their designs which were then sold for charity. Over £15,000 were raised for Maggie's cancer charity.
One particularly interesting part of the exhibition was the Thonet mobile wood bending machine that was on site creating pieces of furniture. Also there to see were a number of pop up cafes and some great cinema.
We're looking forward to next year's exhibition, check out thedesignjunction.co.uk for more info
